We are an extraordinary privileged school, but with that privilege comes great responsibility. We live in one of the most unequal societies in the world, and it is incumbent on us to help build bridges between rich and poor. We may not become an island of privilege.Paul Edey

We believe in sharing our resources and education expertise to support previously disadvantaged and financially underprivileged communities. We provide scholarships to children who are not able to afford a school like St John’s, and we offer additional education and life skills support to children from our neighbouring inner-city schools. We also play our part in addressing South Africa’s teaching crisis by promoting teaching as a worthy and viable career option, while also assisting previously disadvantaged and financially underprivileged students to become qualified and passionate teachers.
